Bali Nine: Have Mercy

Do you really think that it is humane and reasonable to execute Andrew and Myuran, two Australian victims for one silly mistake?
No, its not, they do not deserve the Indonesian firing squad. As Tony Abbot said ‘‘My profound hope is that these executions do not go ahead.’’
Andrew and Myuran have been in the Indonesian Kerobokan Prison for ten years now. During this time these two people have committed more good actions rather than bad.
They have been trying to turn their lives around for the better by showing remorse and sorrow for their actions and are helping other prisoners to do the same. Andrew and Myruan have both become Christians since entering the prison in 2006 and they are also educating other prisoners to realize the horrible use of drugs.
But unfortunately Indonesia is now preparing for their first execution of 2015 and it needs to be the last.
The death penalty is cruel and in humane. How is it one’s right to take another humans life?
How is it right to execute someone or to hang someone? Not only are the penalties that they might face inhumane but also their living conditions. “It is 300 per cent overcapacity. There are a lot of inmates and detainees, they have to push each other to sleep and it is inhumane," Mr Siswanto said during Indonesia’s Corrections Day celebration at the jail.
This is horrific. Andrew and Myuran are human not animals. They should be treated that way. Not stuffed into a dark cell with no space to even breathe let alone move.
‘’Myuran is just a very normal young Australian man. Very quiet, reserved, generous and thoughtful’’ said Ben Quility, an artist who is visiting Myuran in prison and teaching him how to paint.
Andrew and Myuran are just two normal guys that might have made a mistake or two while they where young but what if you were in their position, would you want to be saved?
Andrew and Myuran are worth saving not because they’ve changed but because they are human.
